Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Northern Maple Education and explain acceptable use, intellectual property, limitations, and dispute handling.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this website (the Service), you agree to these Terms of Service (Terms). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. If you are under the age of 18, you should use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who can review and accept these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable laws and school or institutional policies.

2. Description of the Service

Northern Maple Education provides educational information focused on education pathways in Canada. This may include general articles, comparisons of program types, planning checklists, summaries of common admissions documentation, and resource links intended to help users understand typical processes. The Service does not operate as a school, college, university, testing body, credential evaluator, immigration consultant, or legal advisor. We do not make admissions decisions and we do not guarantee acceptance into any institution.

Some pages may describe common practices in Canada. Because education is administered by provinces and territories and institutions can change requirements, you must verify details directly with the institution or official authority before acting on information found on this website.

3. User Obligations

You agree to use the Service responsibly and lawfully. You will not misuse the website or attempt to interfere with its normal operation. If the Service offers optional interactive elements (such as forms), you agree to provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge and to keep communications respectful and relevant.

  • Use the Service for lawful purposes only.
  • Do not impersonate any person or organization.
  • Do not submit false information or content intended to mislead.

Educational institutions and educators may cite brief excerpts with attribution for teaching or reference purposes, provided the excerpt is not presented as official institutional policy and the use does not imply endorsement.

5. Prohibited Activities

To protect users and maintain service integrity, the following activities are prohibited. This list is illustrative and not exhaustive.

  • Scraping, crawling, harvesting, or using automated tools to extract content or data without permission.
  • Reverse engineering, attempting to discover source logic, or bypassing access controls.
  • Uploading or transmitting malware, spyware, or other malicious code.
  • Attempting to disrupt, overload, or degrade the Service, including denial-of-service activity.
  • Spamming, sending unsolicited messages, or using the Service to distribute promotional content unrelated to Canadian education information.
  • Fraud, deception, or any attempt to misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or intent.
  • Infringing third-party rights, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Posting or transmitting unlawful content, hate content, or content that incites violence.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Northern Maple Education disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that information will be current in all cases, because institutional policies can change. You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Northern Maple Education will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

In any case, Northern Maple Education’s total direct liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will be limited to the amount you paid to Northern Maple Education for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 EUR, whichever is lower.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Northern Maple Education, its owners, employees, contractors, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

9. Third-Party Links and Resources

The Service may reference external organizations or publicly available resources. Such references are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. Northern Maple Education does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and the third party.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information, cookies, and consent choices. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully before using the Service.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You agree that the courts located in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to you.

12. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us and describing the issue. The parties will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days of receiving a written notice. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, either party may proceed to the courts specified in the Governing Law and Jurisdiction section.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if it is necessary to protect the security and integrity of the Service. If accounts are introduced in the future, termination may include disabling or deleting access credentials and associated data, subject to applicable law and our retention practices.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law and Jurisdiction, and Dispute Resolution.

14. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will become effective 14 days after they are posted on this page. If the changes are material, we may also provide a notice on the homepage. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
